Our tours

Tempisque Safari Adventures Tour description:

We realize that one of the most important factors for a successful wildlife tour lies in the number and quality of wildlife encounters. Our goal is to get you as close to the action as safely as possible by having you in the right places at the right times. If you love animals and wildlife, Tempisque Safari Adventures is the place for you.

Animal Feeding

We offer crocodile feeding shows, as well as macaws feeding on each tour. Here and during the whole time you will be able to interact with many animals, providing for great photo opportunities and the chance to learn a lot more about Costa Rican Native Wildlife, as well as animals from other areas. We ask our visitors to help us by not feeding any of the animals, other than what is part of our Tour.

River Tour

Our Tempisque River Tour consists on a 1:30 min boat ride through the Tempisque River, bordering Tempisque Safari Adventures property, and the Palo Verde National Park in the Tempisque Lowlands, which are proudly home to the highest concentration of water foul in Central America.

The Tempisque River is the most important river in the Guanacaste Province, it starts at the foot of the Orosi Volcano until 144km later after gathering up water from a great number of smaller rivers to empty forming the beautiful estuary of the Gulf of Nicoya into the Pacific Ocean. This river is the largest in Guanacaste, being of great importance to the area permitting irrigation of crops by local farmers in the area.

Part of the trip will pass Isla de Pajaros (Bird Island), here you will see a wide variety of birds, reptiles and mammals. You will have a good chance to see many crocodiles in their natural habitat, monkeys, iguanas and many more wild animals during this trip.

Tempisque River lies alongside one of Costa Rica’s largest national parks, Palo Verde, this park measures 18.121 hectares (41.678 acres) and has a wide range of species of animals, trees and birds. Palo Verde is called this way (Green Stick), because of a Tree that grows in its area.
